We’ve all experienced it at some point.Your going to a party and no matter how hard you try, you cannot think of a suitable present to take.You have to get one though as it is simply good manners to offer something in return for being invited and the effort that the host has put into organising it.Lets look at the best options available to you that will secure your place at the next party they throw.

Wine. You cannot go wrong with a good bottle of wine. There is an argument that it is a little too predictable, but it is very good choice if you do not know the host very well. You should make the wine gifts slightly more personal though by selecting one that you enjoy yourself or a wine that you picked up on holiday. This will show that the gift is a little more thoughtful and plus it will have a story that you can talk about.

Dinnerware. Not many people think to give dinnerware as a gift unless it is a complete set, which is a little too much for a party present. Don’t think you have to buy a whole set however, there are lots of stand-alone items which are very useful. How about a cheese board, wine cooler or dip bowl.

Quirky gifts. If you fancy offering something out of the norm, opt for some that is cheap and fun. fun gift are always well received and because they are cheap, it doesn’t matter too much if the receiver does not hang on to them.  How about some light-up ice cubes that people can put in their drinks, or glass markers that people can stick on their drink so that they remember which one is theirs. Anything funny or useful will always be a hit and as long as you make the gesture you cannot go too far wrong
